CowFund was conceived in 2004, when a group of diverse, idealistic Aussies set ourselves some goals, harnessed ourselves a big sheath of generosity, and delivered to some impoverished families in Asia more than 200% of what we dared aspire.

With a 500-km cycle ride and four successful international programs under our belt, we decided to put CowFund out to pasture… but, in the immortal words of Henley, Frey and Felder: “They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can’t kill the beast“.

An extraordinary combination of fate, fortune and philanthropy has delivered us to a place where, with your help and support, we can continue to deliver the CowFund product: a hand up, not a hand out.

CowFund is the leanest cow in town. We still have no staff and no administrative costs. Which means that 100% of every donation we receive is delivered to our micro-credit partners.

One thing we do have in abundance is commitment. Not to mention amazingly creative and generous supporters. They are the sole reason CowFund has refused to expire, and we want to publicly thank every one of them.
