Day 3, Mittagong - Goulburn, NSW (94km)

Two in two days. We've made it!
Two in two days. We've made it!

Mittagong was farewelled early as the riders departed for Bowral and Moss Vale, en route to Goulburn.

Wingecarribee Shire hosted a marvellous civic reception for the team and the Mayor (Cr Gordon Lewis) presented a cheque for the remaining half cow to supplement Wollondilly’s contribution from the previous day. The jointly sponsored cow will be known as ‘Wingy Wally’ (a name coined by the Council’s witty media manager, Geoff Goodfellow). CowFunders were touched by the Mayor’s speech, but left bemused at the delight of the Wollondilly representatives at owning the back half of the cow!

The team departed Moss Vale and toured Exeter and Bundanoon, competing all the way with persistent westerly winds until arriving in Goulburn, 94 km after departing Mittagong.

John and Ann Macphillamy provided us with a sterling dinner and fantastic accommodation on their beautiful property, Tarlo - bliss for fatigued cyclists (and support crew)!
